The Image of God (Lost Sheep Series)

This books is part of a lovely series. It is a nice book for children of a range of ages from preschool to the end of primary school. There are a couple of sentences for each double page, so is suitable for young kids but the messages are ones that older kids would really appreciate too. The story is written by an Aussie. The pictures are very simple but bright and colourful. In short, this books talks about how babies and children might look like their Dad or Aunty, and it reminds them they are made in God's image too.

I love the way this book walks through the concept of being made in God's image by starting with what it means for babies to be 'just like Dad'. It makes a fairly abstract concept quite understandable for young children. The illustrations are also vividly colourful and enjoyable to look at. I would recommend this book to 3-12 year olds.

This story reminds kids that, just as they have features that look like their parents or other family members, they take after God too, being made in his image. It's sweet, if a little wacky at times and while it does have a lot of words, it's a great message. Would recommend to for kids aged 5-10.
