Grindheim's replacement for O'Brien's withdrawn volume is a worthy successor: thorough, exegetically careful, and remarkably readable given its depth. The seventy-plus-page introduction alone is worth the price, tackling authorship, date, and audience with judicious caution, while the eleven excurses (on Melchizedek, the heavenly sanctuary, and the "impossibility of repentance" in Hebrews 6, among others) reward slow reading. What I appreciated most as a Reformed reader is his even-handed treatment of the perseverance-of-the-saints debate: he doesn't force the text into a Calvinist mould, but shows real sympathy for how a Reformed framework can coherently account for the warning passages.
