Carl R. Trueman is a theologian, church historian, author, and Professor of Biblical and Theological Studies at Grove City College. His work explores the Reformation, Christian doctrine, creeds and confessions, and the development of modern ideas about identity and the self. Trueman is best known for The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self, which examines the historical and philosophical influences shaping contemporary Western culture. His other books include Strange New World, Crisis of Confidence, and The Desecration of Man. Through historical analysis and theological reflection, Trueman helps Christians understand cultural change and consider how historic Christian teaching speaks to contemporary life.
